I hope you had a chance to look at last week’s sneak peak at Lofty Sedona, one of our kitchen vignettes for KBIS, where you saw how a bold desert red color, though unexpected, can be so beautiful in a contemporary design. With this week’s sneak peek, let’s take a look at another color palette, one that I think you’ll find a bit surprising!
As I mentioned in 2019 Trends: 3 Secrets to Designs that Sell, color is happening in 2019. Sometimes clients shy away from color as it is too risky for their fashion trend personality! But with a palette like this, we may give them a reason to re-think what defines a neutral and to consider color in a design statement that is easy to live with long-term.
So here’s your sneak peek our inspiration for Modern Farmhouse:
We’ve seen lovely hues of green hit the European market in 2018, and we’re pretty excited to share this laurel hue! It has a hint of blue, is perfectly subdued, and it complements all the on-trend, neutral wood finishes.
There’s something historic translated through this color, but also something fresh. I think it’s the perfect green! But what makes this green so charming is the right complementing neutral.
It’s not a white, it’s not a gray, why…it’s tan man! You say what? I say tan! A rich, well-embodied tan I might add. (Soooo not your mama’s 80’s tan!) Think Ralph Lauren Home: sophisticated, rich and oh so warm.
And it looks like I’m not the only one who’s jumped on the green-and-beige bandwagon! Take a look at this Modern Farmhouse home featured by Better Homes and Gardens:
And I love the way the team at Design Seeds pulled this color story together, it’s like they knew what we were dreaming up!
Along with the exquisite duo of green and tan, we added just a touch of rustic texture with Eagle Rock on knotty alder. The result: a fresh take on a modern color palette, and a special touch of Farmhouse flair.
Our design not only uses a rich balance of color, we approached the Farmhouse style in a bit of an unexpected manner.
While you will find typical farmhouse elements like an apron sink, X-patterns and planks, we’ve sharpened our pencils a bit to amp up this style into something that will surely catch your eye. Going a bit more glamorous, we added the Catania door in Oil Rubbed Bronze, and a glimmery backsplash focal point from Artistic Tile, and indulged in a few selections from the luxurious Lacquered Burnished Brass collection from Restoration Hardware. These are just the type of details that I spoke of in my trio of 2019 trends, where carefully selected nuances will be a essential, especially for the Trend Setters.
There will be so much to see at KBIS, so if you’re planning to attend, I do hope you can make time to swing by our booth #N3026 to see this amazing design first hand! If you’re following KBIS happenings from home this year, keep in touch with us here and on Twitter and Instagram. We’ll be sharing sneak peeks and closer looks at our fabulous displays during the show and other highlights of KBIS afterwards.
See you next week for another sneak peek at KBIS 2019!
