Discovering Solaré

The behind-the-scenes work on Bath Silhouettes has been an exciting venture for the Medallion team and with the recent launch fresh in our minds I thought: What a great time to take a look at each collection!

The goal in developing Bath Silhouettes was to offer a style-based series of bath cabinetry, in the most sought-after designs, to aid in streamlining the selection process with your clients. We researched market trends, as well as our existing product lines and paired this information with our own interpretation of artistic embellishments. We understood that having just another vanity line wasn’t enough and that we needed to give you the ability to tailor a design to your client’s personal taste while preserving our approachable value and reasonable lead-time. All this and a desire to make Bath Silhouettes your first choice for bath projects!

You’ll find our most popular inset and full-overlay styles and finishes within the Solaré bath collection.

Bath Silhouettes General Tips2

As I considered each collection, I found myself asking the question – what was special about each one of them and what could I share to help you be prepared to guide your clients?

Let’s explore the details of Solaré

This collection stands out as my personal favorite. In particular, I enjoy the flexibility of being able to choose from 3 leg styles for vanities (and matching feet for linens) – and whether or not to leave the area below the drawers open or include a shelf. I think this is personal to the client’s style and space, but as an example, let’s say we’re creating a charming freestanding vanity for a powder room, maybe in Farmhouse style. In this case, I’d suggest taking a pass on the shelf, using a square leg, the Stockton flat panel door in quarter sawn oak with the Boulder finish, and voila! Is it reclaimed, is it recycled? It can be you and your client’s little secret, but unlike an estate piece, our drawers and finish won’t stick with humidity!

For clients that like to change their decor, the inclusion of a shelf is the perfect space for a creative personal touch. Deciding on a solid or slatted shelf is based on preference, but I tend to think slatted is a great fit for casual and modern looks, while solid is better for a refined or more formal look.

Maybe you’ve already noticed that there is something quite different about Bath Silhouettes compared to Medallion’s current platforms: We’re not only including inset, frameless, full-overlay and half-overlay styling options – but we’ve also included a frameless series (the Mezza Collection; stay tuned for more on this one!) – and all of our collections are conveniently located in one 2020 catalog and spec book. Let’s take a quick peek at the options for Solaré in full-overlay and inset styling.

Another unique feature for the Solaré vanities is the functional plumbing drawer. Depending on the width of your vanity, the design and placement of the plumbing drawer changes, so pay special attention to the specifications when you’re planning. I’ve included a few references below with more detailed information. Our engineers suggest talking to your plumbing contractor during the design process to communicate the need for precise selection and placement of the “P” trap and water lines in order to make the installation seamless. You may find that a mini “P” trap works best for the Solare vanities. I found a few options online, one being from Mountain Plumbing Products.

To me, Solaré is a fashionable furniture-style vanity that lives comfortably in any home. As you continue to explore Solaré, and the five other collections within Bath Silhouettes, we feel confident that you’ll find a streamlined selection with flexible choices designed to make you look great and give your client a reason to boast!

If you’ve had a chance to design with Solaré, we’d love to hear from you.
